She explains how and why these shapes have changed over time and, in the process, she draws thought-provoking connections between micro and macro worlds. After reading this book, you will start seeing shapes, connections, and the "telling image" wherever you go.
Beautiful and thoughtful book. Loved it!
This is a fantastic book the chronicles the patterns of humankind throughout the history of time through vibrant photos, poetic phrasing, and all around good story telling. I’m a word that at times seems divided we are reminded of the simple social structure mechanisms that connect us all.
so beautiful. looking forward to reading it.
Simply beautiful!
The perfect book for those who care about paying attention to the world that surrounds us. It's creativity sparks the reader's understanding of shape and form. From ancient times to modern times, I will never look at the world the same way again. This book is an extraordinary work of genius. I am buying the book for everyone I care about. I want to share this marvelous experience. A MUST READ.
Spectacular photography illuminates the author's thesis that shape defines the human condition. Natural shapes and those created by men and women reveal much about belief systems, cultures and their values. The myriad of experiences that the author has had are incorporated in telling examples which circle back [note shape reference here] to her original premise. This is not a 'quick read'---but nothing worth reading is a 'quick read'; this book is well worth your time and thought.
This book is a simply jaw-dropping, beautiful, and engaging book. It discusses the history of human evolution in an easy-to-follow, big idea way that simply changed how I see the world. I was surprised how easily it tied together different topics, from history to art to philosophy to architecture. You do not want to miss this book.
